Natural Health Service

Nicola and I were recently invited to talk at a ‘sharing’ (small conference) between mindfulness practitioners and health providers in the Mersey area.

The Mersey Forest and Mersey NHS are working together on a pilot project to provide a single contact point to well-developed services in the natural environment, proven to tackle a range of health and wellbeing issues.

Here at Into the Woods we are very interested in the health and wellbeing benefits of being in the natural environment for adults. We are keen to see how this pilot develops and explore the possibilities of this kind of service in the Bristol area.

The conference focused on mindfulness and we spoke about our work with adults with learning difficulties and how to help people to be in the moment, which activities help people to feel ‘flow’ and connect to the natural environment around them.
